|What is Go CV and why should I sign up?|
The GoCV card is free and offers Coventry residents and Council tax payers discounts on events, activities and attractions. Anyone in receipt of qualifying benefits will get a greater discount. Check with each venue on what the Go CV offer is.
|Can I get a Go CV card?|
Anyone that lives in Coventry and pays their Council Tax to Coventry City Council can register for a card and collect it from any of our venues and Customer Service Centre. Register at https://portal.go-cv.co.uk/account/register
|When will I get my card?|
You can collect your card from any of our locations and Customer Service Centre. It will not be posted out. If you have already registered you will need to log your card number against your account when you have your card.
|Does everyone in my family need a card?|
Yes. You can create a family group on your account and add any partner or children to your account with their personal card numbers.
|Do I need an email address to have a card?|
Yes. Everyone must register with their own unique email address, including children aged 13 or over. Email addresses cannot be shared on an account. For children under 13 years of age, you can select ‘NO – please provide consent to email children under 13’.
|How do I validate my account?|
To activate your discounts you need to validate your account at any of the venues. If you are the person named on the Council Tax bill you will automatically be validated as well as any members in your family who are 18 or under. Anyone else in your group will need to provide proof of address to validate their card.
If the system prompts you to take some proof of your address to a venue to verify your account, then you will need to take the following:
- If you are the person named on the Council Tax Bill, then take your letter
- If you are NOT, the named person on the Council Tax bill, you will need to take the bill along with another form of ID that verifies you live at the address.
If the system prompts you to take proof of benefits to a venue to verify your account, then you will need to take the letter/evidence that you are receiving that benefit. It must be in your name to receive the discount. You can validate your account at any venue except for the Council Customer Service Centre.
|Why is my postcode not being accepted?|
Postcodes should be entered with a space ie CV1 2HN. Select your address from the drop down list. Addresses that do not pay Council Tax to Coventry City Council will not be accepted. Check to see if yours is accepted here
|Why is my date of birth not being accepted?|
Please use the pop up calendar and select your date of birth in the following format – month/year/day.
|What Benefits allow me to get a greater discount?|
Proof of Benefits will be required and can be verified at our locations by taking evidence such as a letter from the Department of Work and Pensions, letter from the Council or Home Office, or NUS card. See following list of those that qualify

|Will this replace my Passport To Leisure and Learning card?|
Currently both cards will be accepted at venues and the price is shown as Go CV + concessions.
|Why are my details not showing on the system?|
When you registered you will have been sent a link in an email to verify your account. The link is active for 30 days. If you haven’t clicked on the link to verify your address, your details will be deleted from the system.
