Q.

What is Go CV and why should I sign up?

A.

The GoCV card is free and offers Coventry residents and Council tax payers offers and discounts on events, activities and attractions. Anyone in receipt of qualifying benefits will pay the Go CV+ concessionary price. Check with each venue on what the Go CV offer is.

Q.

Can I get a Go CV card?

A.

Anyone that lives in Coventry and pays their Council Tax to Coventry City Council can register for a card and collect it from any of our sign-up centres.

Q.

When will I get my card?

A.

You can collect your card from one of our sign-up centres. It will not be posted out. If you have already registered you will need to log your 16 digit card number against your account when you have your card.

Q.

Does everyone in my family need a card?

A.

Yes. You can create a family group on your account and add any partner or children to your account with their personal card numbers.

Q.

How do I create a family group and add children to my account?

A.

Create your own account with your details. Make your account active by clicking on the link in the email you receive when you register. Log in and go to the ‘My Groups’ option, create a family group and give it a name. Click on ‘View Group’ and you can then add a child by clicking on ‘Register a new member’.

Q.

Do I need an email address to have a card?

A.

Yes. Everyone – including children aged 13 or over – must register with their own email address. Email addresses cannot be used more than once or be shared on an account.

For children under 13 years of age no email is required. Make sure you select the option ‘NO – please provide consent to email children under 13’. This allows you to add children under 13 without an email.

If you do not have an email and need help creating one, staff in one of our sign-up centres should be able to help you.

Q.

How do I validate my account?

A.

To activate your discounts you need to validate your account at any of our sign-up centres. If you are the person named on the Council Tax bill you will automatically be validated as well as any members in your family who are 18 or under. Anyone else in your group will need to provide proof of address to validate their card.
If the system prompts you to take some proof of your address to a venue to verify your account, then you will need to take the following:

  • If you are the person named on the Council Tax Bill, then take your letter
  • If you are NOT the named person on the Council Tax bill, you will need to take the bill along with another form of ID that verifies you live at the address.

If the system prompts you to take proof of benefits to a venue to verify your account, then you will need to take the letter/evidence that you are receiving that benefit. It must be in your name to receive the discount. You can validate your account at any sign-up centre. It will need to be validated annually for you to get the Go CV+ discount.

Q.

Why is my postcode not being accepted?

A.

Postcodes should be entered with a space ie CV1 2HN. Select your address from the drop down list. Addresses that do not pay Council Tax to Coventry City Council will not be accepted. Check to see if yours is accepted here.

Q.

Why is my date of birth not being accepted?

A.

Please use the pop up calendar and select your date of birth in the following format – month/year/day.

Q.

What Benefits allow me to get the Go CV+ greater discount?

A.

Q.

Why are my details not showing on the system?

A.

When you registered you will have been sent a link in an email to verify your account. The link is active for 30 days. If you haven’t clicked on the link to verify your address, your details will be deleted from the system.

Q.

How do I know what level of discount I’m entitled to?

A.

When you log into your account the level of discount will show in the top right corner under your name. If you have created a group in your account and any member is under 16, then you will be able to see their discount in their account details.

Q.

What do I do if I’ve lost my card?

A.

You can collect a new card from any of our sign-up centres and then add the new 16 digit card number next to your name when you are logged into your account.

Q.

How do I make sure I find out about the latest offers and news?

A.
