‘Win a Wedding’ Terms and Conditions (“Prize Draw”) – Go CV
  1. The promoter of the Prize Draw is the Council of the City of Coventry (the “Promoter”), PO Box 7097, Coventry, CV6 9SL
  2. The Promoter is working in collaboration with multiple partners as listed in paragraph 12 below, with the two key partners:
    • Coventry Registry Office, Cheylesmore Manor House, Manor House Drive CV1 2ND; and
    • Drapers’ Hall Coventry, Bayley Lane, Coventry, CV1 5RN.
  3. The Prize Draw is open to eligible couples; to be eligible, at least one of the couple is required to be a Coventry resident aged 18 years or over with a registered Go CV card and a validated Go CV account, but excluding employees of the Promoter, their immediate families (i.e. parents, siblings, spouse, children), agents, any employees of collaborative partners as listed in clause 12 below directly associated with administration of the Prize Draw. Each eligible applicant that submits a compliant entry to the Prize Draw shall be an “Applicant”.
  4. The Prize Draw is free to enter, and no purchase is necessary.
  5. All entries must be submitted via Go CV using this link https://myaccount.coventry.gov.uk/service/Go_CV___Competition_entry. Only one entry per person is permitted. Abuse of entry limit will not be accepted and if the Promoter has reasonable grounds to believe that any Applicant exceeds this limit by submitting multiple entries, it reserves the right at its sole discretion to void any entries and/or to award the Prize of the Winner to alternative Applicants.
  6. The Prize Draw will open at 09:00 on Monday 12 May. The closing date of the Prize Draw is at 23:59 on Sunday 15 June 2025. Entries received after this time and date will not be eligible for the Prize Draw.
  7. By entering the Prize Draw, each Applicant confirms that they are eligible and have the legal capacity to participate and claim the Prize, they have read and understood these Terms and Conditions and agreed to be bound by them. The Promoter may require each Applicant to provide proof of eligibility and identity.
  8. The Promoter will not accept entries that are (i) automatically generated by a computer, (ii) completed by third parties or in bulk, (iii) illegal, have been altered, reconstructed, forged or tampered with, (iv) offensive, or (v) incomplete. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse any entry for any reason listed above at its absolute discretion.
  9. As part of the competition entry, each Applicant must complete the entry form, provide contact information required and submit a statement of 300 words (approx. 2,000 characters) detailing their love story and why they deserve to win a wedding as a couple. Each Applicant shall be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the contact information provided, for receiving the notification of the Winner. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse or disqualify any incomplete entries.
  10. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for entries not successfully completed due to a technical fault of any kind. Proof of transmission as proof of receipt of entry to the Prize Draw will not be accepted.
  11. An independent panel of adjudicators shall assess all compliant entries week commencing 16 June 2025 and shortlist based on the uniqueness, authenticity and emotional resonance of the statement of the love story which effectively showcase the couple’s loving bond to deserve to win a wedding. One (1) winning competition entry by an Applicant (the “Winner”) with the named partner will be randomly selected from the shortlisted Applicants. The decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. If due to change of circumstances, the initial Winner does not or cannot proceed with the wedding with the named partner, a substitute Winner will be chosen by the Council through random selection from the shortlisted Applicants.
  12. The Winner will receive a ‘Win a Wedding’ package for a wedding on Saturday 14 February 2026 commencing at 2pm for a maximum of 50 guests (“Prize”) consisting of:
    • A marriage ceremony* in the Black Prince Room at Cheylesmore Manor House (Coventry Registry Office) including Legal Notice of Intention Fees, live streaming, keepsake confetti and ceremony music.
    • Wedding reception venue at Drapers’ Hall including buffet, dining set-up and service staff.
    • Brody Swain Wedding Toastmaster across both venues: Cheylesmore Manor for the ceremony and Drapers’ Hall for the reception.
    • Isabel’s Flower Studio for bridal bouquet and one for a bridesmaid, the groom’s buttonhole and a ceremony table arrangement.
    • Bed and Breakfast overnight accommodation in a Junior Suite at Telegraph Hotel
    • UR Rosa Photography, 3 hours photography, covering get ready photos (if required), ceremony, family photos and private couple shoot.
    • Electric Joy Moments Content Creator capturing precious moments: 6 hours coverage starting from getting ready through to drinks reception. Videos/reels compatible for sharing across social media. Gallery delivered within 24-48 hours.
      • Under exceptional and reasonably unforeseeable circumstances, the Winner may request to move the wedding to an alternative date and time, subject to the Promoter’s sole discretion, whether the request to change is accepted. The Promoter shall endeavour to keep the wedding on the stated date but nevertheless it reserves the right to change the wedding date to an alternative date and time, at its own sole discretion. In the event of such change, the Promoter may not be able to guarantee the availability of all items listed above and alternative provisions may need to be arranged.
      • A marriage ceremony constitutes any two adults aged 18 or above, that are free to enter into a legal marriage according to the Marriage Act 1949 or Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act 2013, as applicable. For the avoidance of doubt, it does not include civil partnerships. 
      • The Winner may be required by the collaborative partners to agree to and/or sign their respective terms and conditions in relation to the delivery of goods and/or services.
      • For the avoidance of doubt, the Promoter only provides the marriage ceremony through Coventry Register Office and the legal notice of intention fees. The other components of the ‘Win a Wedding’ package are provided by each respective collaborative partner as listed in clause 12 above. The Promoter disclaims any liability for the respective collaborative partners’ provision of goods and/or services, including but not limited to, the quality, supply, description or warranty service of such goods and/or services.
  13. The Winner will be notified via email week commencing 23 June 2025 and may receive an additional telephone phone call for confirmation purposes.
  14. If the Winner does not confirm their acceptance to the Promoter by 30 June 2025, then the Winner’s Prize will be forfeited, and the Promoter will be entitled to select another Winner in accordance with the process described in clause 11 above.
  15. The detailed arrangements of the Prize package will be discussed with the Winner e.g. bespoke vows, table planning, colour schemes etc.
  16. Should the Winner wish to upgrade any of the Prize package, e.g. venue’s catering and drinks package, these can be discussed and the Winner may have to incur extra charges as necessary.
  17. The Winner must be willing to participate in marketing and publicity efforts relating to the competition which will include narrative statements, photographs and film to capture the occasion and use on Council’s marketing channels.
  18. In the event that the wedding is unable to take place (i.e., cancelled) due to the fault of the Winner, the Promoter and its collaborative partners reserve the right to reclaim compensation from the Winner up to the value of the Prize.
  19. The Prize for the Winner is non-exchangeable, non-transferrable and no cash alternative is offered.
  20. The Promoter reserves the right to replace any part(s) of the Prize with alternative provision(s) of an equal or a higher value if circumstances beyond the Promoter’s control makes it necessary to do so.
  21. The decision of the Promoter regarding any aspect of the Prize Draw is final and binding, and shall not be disputed.
  22. The Promoter must make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation, the Promoter will announce the names of the Winner. By entering the Prize Draw, it is deemed that each Applicant consents to the publication of their full name, and entry photo by the Promoter.
  23. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse to award the Prize to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions.
  24. The Promoter reserves the absolute discretion and right to hold, void, cancel, suspend or amend the Prize Draw where it becomes necessary to do so.
  25. Insofar as is permitted by law, each Applicant agrees to exempt and exclude the Promoter from all claims or liabilities of any nature arising from the Prize Draw. The Promoter will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate each Applicant or accept any liability for any loss or damage occurring as a result of taking up the Prize Draw. This disclaimer is not applicable to damage or loss caused by the Promoter’s fraud, or death or personal injury caused by negligence of the Promoter. Your statutory rights are not affected.
  26. By entering this Prize Draw, each Applicant agrees that any personal data provided will be collected, used and retained by the Promoter for the purposes of (i) verifying eligibility and identity of the Applicant, and (ii) fulfilment of Prize redemption and other purposes directly related to this Prize Draw. Any personal data supplied during the course of this Prize Draw will be processed in accordance with the Go CV’s Privacy Policies available at https://go-cv.co.uk/privacy-policy/ as well as the respective privacy policies of other main collaborative partners – Coventry Register Office and Drapers’ Hall Coventry.
  27. By submitting your Prize Draw entry and any accompanying material, each Applicant agrees to (i) assign to the Promoter all their respective intellectual property rights with full title guarantee; and (ii) waive all moral rights, in and to their respective Prize Draw entry and otherwise arising in connection with their respective entry to which they may now or at any time in the future be entitled under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 as amended from time to time and under all similar legislation from time to time in force anywhere in the world.
  28. These terms and conditions and/or any claim or dispute arising from or in connection with this Prize Draw will be governed by English laws. Each Applicant and the Promoter agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of English courts.
