The Passport to Leisure and Learning scheme will merge with Go CV over the next few months following approval by city Councillors in April 2020.

The Passport to Leisure and Learning scheme was launched several years ago to help those on low incomes save money on a range of education, health and wellbeing activities.

In order for current Passport to Leisure and Learning cardholders to receive the same benefits, they will need to apply for a Go CV card.

With the current COVID-19 pandemic situation resulting in closures of facilities alongside the government rules on social distancing, activities have temporarily been put on hold.

The merge of both schemes will enable current Passport to Leisure and Learning holders to access a wider range of discounts and benefits via the Go CV scheme – when restrictions are eventually lifted – from just one card.

What you need to do:

1. Current Passport to Leisure and Learning card holders will need to sign-up for their new Go CV card by going to the Go CV website.  This will not be done automatically for you
2. Collect your Go CV card from any of our collection points in the city once public access has been cleared.
3. All Passport to Leisure and Learning discounts will transfer over to the Go CV scheme.
4. Current Go CV card holders do not need to do anything.

Councillor Kamran Caan, Cabinet Member for Public Health and Sport said: “We are officially merging the two discount schemes in Coventry. The members of both Passport to Leisure and Learning and Go CV will see greater benefits, so it’s a win-win situation for all.

“Those that qualified for a Passport to Leisure and Learning can still get that same access to discounted services as before, but also enjoy the discounts offered by Go CV partners while carrying only one card.

“During the current COVID-19 pandemic and the need to follow Government advice, our offers are currently not available to enjoy. However, please rest assured that we are working hard to prepare for a smooth transition once the national situation improves so that we can continue to bring Go CV card holders fantastic discounts, hopefully with even more to come soon.”

The merge of the schemes will take place later in the year. Passport to Leisure and Learning cards will also stop being issued at a similar time.

The free Go CV card scheme was launched in April 2019 as part of Coventry’s year as European City of Sport and currently has 45,000 members.
